Mideast cleaning industry to grow 275pc

DUBAI, September 17, 2014

The cleaning and hygiene industry in the Middle East is set to rise from Dh80 billion ($21.7 billion) to Dh300 billion by 2020, a 275 per cent growth, according to a recent report.

The second edition of the Middle East’s top trade expo on cleaning and hygiene, Clean Middle East Pulire (CMEP), which will un from October 21 to 23 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, will address this key sector.

Abdul Majid Saifaie, director of Waste Management Department, Dubai Municipality, said: “Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, believes in maintaining the reputation of Dubai as one of the cleanest cities in the world, and providing tourists and expats international hygienic standards across all segments.

“With the advent of the Expo 2020 in Dubai, we would work to adopt the best practices in the cleaning and hygiene industry and also ensure that our partners in the development are complying with  that, and this applies to hospitality sector and the communities developers as well.”

Top industry players will showcase some of the best equipment, facilities and products for the Middle East region, said a statement.

Ecolab, a global provider of water, hygiene and energy technologies and services to the food, energy, healthcare, industrial and hospitality markets, is set to take part as a hygiene partner and will exhibit at the expo, which has been organised by Virtual Info Systems. - TradeArabia News Service
