G420 Healthcare desktop printer

Zebra unveils new healthcare desktop printer

DUBAI, October 13, 2014

Zebra Technologies Corporation, a leader in products and solutions that provide real-time visibility into healthcare organisations’ patients, clinicians and assets, has updated its comprehensive healthcare portfolio in the Middle East with the launch of a desktop printer at the ongoing Gitex 2014.

The GK420 Healthcare is an addition to a full lineup of healthcare printers that are disinfectant-ready and joins the recently launched QLn Healthcare Solutions Series and the HC100 wristband printer as part of an ongoing commitment to improve patient safety in healthcare operations.

Pratik Kajaria, territory manager, Middle East, said: “With the addition of the GK420 Healthcare printer to our already robust portfolio of healthcare solutions, Zebra is well positioned to provide a higher level of patient safety and improved staff productivity.

“Whether it’s positively identifying patients, specimens, or medications, Zebra’s solutions are specifically designed to optimise workflows and improve identification accuracy within healthcare environments.”

The new printer will expand the capabilities of Zebra’s existing Mobile Specimen Solution Set, which was developed with insight from healthcare leaders to alleviate operational pain points in healthcare facilities.

Designed for use in sterile environments, the GK420 Healthcare printer can withstand regular cleanings with disinfecting solutions and allows healthcare professionals to label medications and specimens before and during surgery in the operating room, making the process safer and more efficient.

Its other applications include medication identification in the pharmacy, sample processing in the lab, tissue identification in the surgery centre, blood bank labelling, medical records labelling, compliance labelling and asset identification and tracking.

The Energy Star certified printer was also designed with a medical-grade power supply certified to IEC 60601-1 standards, protecting patients and staff by reducing the risk of electrical shock and improving printer performance.

The printer’s small footprint and compact design will also allow for fixed location or cart based applications supporting healthcare providers’ needs to be more flexible.

“Whether it’s the lab, pharmacy, surgery centre or patient beside, Zebra’s healthcare solutions and expertise make Zebra a reliable and innovative partner for the industry,” added Kajaria. - TradeArabia News Service
