MetLife to publish UAE survey of employee benefits

DUBAI, October 23, 2014

MetLife, one of the region’s leading insurance companies and a global provider of insurance, annuities and employee benefit programs, will publish its first UAE survey of employee benefits in November.

This was revealed by Dr Shafiq Shaikh, medical network and claims director for MetLife Gulf, at the Middle East Healthcare Insurance Forum in Dubai, UAE, which was organised by the Middle East Insurance Review, and focussed on the latest innovations in health insurance.

Dr Shaikh said: “The conference was a platform for interactive discussion and debate to identify best practices, challenges, opportunities and benefits for all stakeholders in the region’s dynamic healthcare industry. With governments making health insurance compulsory, it is becoming an increasingly valued employee benefit, which is why we decided to undertake the benefit trends survey in the UAE, for the first time in 2014.”

MetLife, covered employee and employer perspectives from 600 interviews (including SMEs and multinationals) across the country in the survey.

Ossman Charabati, head of Employee Benefits – EMEA at MetLife, said: “Our new UAE survey examines the country’s rapidly changing and increasingly competitive employment market, in which employee benefits such as health insurance play a vital role in achieving business outcomes by reducing employee stress related to financial security and health worries, and enhancing employee productivity and loyalty/retention. We will be publishing the full report next month and sharing it with all the insurance industry stakeholders. The survey will provide valuable insights for employers, brokers, consultants, and benefits professionals.”- TradeArabia News Service
