Bahrain launches new health care system

MANAMA, January 2, 2015

Bahrain has announced a new system to provide basic health care for its private sector workers.

Health Minister Sadiq Al Shehabi said the system now compels companies with less than 50 workers to take part in facilities provided by the ministry, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Companies with more than 50 workers can either sign a deal with licensed health insurance companies or an integrated medical facility.

Firm using the ministry health care facility will have to pay an annual BD72 ($186) per worker, he was quoted as saying by the report. - TradeArabia News Service
