Wetex to host 1,600 exhibitors

DUBAI, March 17, 2015

The Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (Wetex) 2015, to be held in Dubai, UAE, next month, is expected to host a record 1,600 exhibitors from 45 countries.

The exhibition, organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), is held under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and president of Dewa, from April 21-23 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Wetex 2015 is organised under the umbrella of Green Week 2015, in conjunction with the World Green Economy Summit. The show has successfully grown into one of the top global specialised exhibitions in water, energy, environment, oil and gas, and sustainability.

Over the last 16 years, Wetex attracted an increasing number of exhibitors, experts, specialists, international and official delegations, and visitors. This was reflected in its total area, which increased each year to keep up with the increase in the number of exhibitors.

In 1999, only 4 exhibitors from two countries took part in the first Wetex, which occupied just 130 sq m. Since then, the exhibition has grown significantly. The 16th Wetex in 2014 hosted over 1,500 exhibitors from 42 countries. It occupied an area of 49,300 sq m, and attracted over 22,600 visitors.

As a comprehensive exhibition for the key sectors of water, energy, environment, oil and gas, which lead the economic scene worldwide, an increasing number of experts, exhibitors, companies and interested individuals look forward to taking part in Wetex 2015. It has consolidated its position as a global specialised exhibition in these fields and has provided excellent results for participants year after year, said a statement.

“The impressive growth in terms of exhibitors, display area and participating countries, reflects the growing global interest in Wetex, the largest of its kind in the region. It also reflects increasing awareness of the importance of modern and advanced solutions for energy, water and environmental sustainability,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of Dewa and president and founder of Wetex. - TradeArabia News Service
