Top DHA officials discuss health strategy

Top officials from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) recently held a meeting to discuss the development of the Dubai Health Strategy for the next five years.

The DHA, created in 2007, aims to provide an accessible, effective and integrated healthcare system, protect public health and improve the quality of life within Dubai. In addition to overseeing the health sector for the emirate, the DHA also focuses on providing services through DHA healthcare facilities including hospitals, specialty centres and DHA primary health centres spread throughout Dubai.

Humaid Al Qatami, chairman of the Board and director-general of the DHA, along with other top officials discussed a number of programmes during the meeting. These include:
•    Creative health-care model
•    Healthy living
•    Focus on developing preventive healthcare for the society
•    Development of primary healthcare
•    Treatment programs for psychological and social disorders
•    Advanced follow-up systems
•    Creating centres of excellence in healthcare
•    Concentrating on bolstering medical tourism
•    Patient satisfaction
•    Medical governance
•    Information Technology
•    Medical development methodologies
•    Health Insurance
•    Bolstering partnerships

Currently in its second phase, the formulation of the strategy includes development and prioritization of ideas discussed during the first phase of stakeholder engagement.

The third phase, which will conclude before the year ends, is about methods of implementing the final strategy.-TradeArabia News Service
