Dubai Healthcare City unveils Phase Two expansion plans

DUBAI, March 31, 2016

Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC),  one of the world's largest healthcare free zone, has announced plans to establish the first hospital - the Clemenceau Medical Center -  one of its Phase Two expansion project in Al Jadaf Dubai, and the third general hospital for the free zone, expanding its range of specialised care.

The upcoming 110-bed hospital will have advance facilities such as robotic surgery, and wide-ranging inpatient and outpatient services, said a statement from DHCC.

The hospital is part of the Clemenceau Medicine Network of hospitals, including the Clemenceau Medical Center in Beirut, Lebanon, which is affiliated with John Hopkins Medicine International.

The Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited centre in Beirut was recognised as one of the top 10 hospitals globally for medical tourism by the independent international organisation Medical Travel Quality Alliance.

The Clemenceau Medical Center in Phase Two is being developed at a cost of approximately Dh400 million ($109 million) in partnership with Khansaheb Investment, and is expected to receive patients by 2018.

Dr Raja Al Gurg, the vice-chairperson and executive director of Dubai Healthcare City Authority, said the second phase of DHCC will increase the free zone’s health services and support Dubai’s economic diversification.

"As a contributor to this healthcare value chain, we link factors of digital innovation, unique concepts, and specialization," she stated.

The new hospital will have six state-of-the-art operating theatres, employing the latest available technologies and medical procedures to augment the overall treatment methodologies and improve patients’ medical experience.

Dr Mounes Kalaawi, founding CEO of Clemenceau Medical Center (Beirut) and Clemenceau Medicine International, said the new hospital will deliver excellent services and latest advances to patients in Dubai and the region.

"It will be one of the main hubs in Clemenceau Medicine Network comprising centres in Beirut, Amman (Jordan) and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)," stated Kalaawi.-TradeArabia News Service
