Medical tourism startup opens base in Ras Al Khaimah

RAS AL KHAIMAH, November 13, 2017

Medigo, a Berlin-based medical tourism startup, has launched operations in Ras Al Khaimah with the support of Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development (RAK DED).
 
Medigo is a healthcare connector, arranging higher quality care, shorter waiting times, and affordable treatment through its global network. 
 
The company inaugurated its Mena region office in Ras Al Khaimah in collaboration with RAK DED and RAK Incubator and Accelerator, which work to build a practical ecosystem for startups in Ras Al Khaimah.
 
Medigo improves access to healthcare for people everywhere. It is an easy to use digital platform and service that helps patients to get medical second opinions and to schedule affordable, high quality medical treatment abroad. 
 
The Medigo network has more than 800 hospitals and clinics in 35 countries, thousands of expert doctors, and a dedicated 24/7 Care Team, to support patients.
 
“Ras Al Khaimah is a tourism hub, and innovative companies like Medigo brings a lot of value to DED’s continuous efforts to grow business in the Emirate. RAK DED’s efforts to attract successful companies that are seeking to expand and serve the business and society in the Emirate, and with RAK considered a growing tourist spot, we look forward to becoming the destination for medical tourism,” said Dr Abdul Rahman Al Shayeb Al Naqbi, Director General, DED. 
 
“We look forward to support the medical tourism sector in the emirate and the UAE, in conjunction with the UAE vision and medical tourism initiative. As we at Medigo will start offering our services to all residents throughout the UAE for treatment abroad where the company has presence.
