DUBAI, November 21, 2017

Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has launched a blood donation app that makes it easier to find a time and place to make blood donations in Dubai, UAE.

Dr Mai Raouf, director of the Dubai Blood Donation Center said the ‘Dammi’ app allows blood donors to answer donation eligibility questionnaire and read pre-donation educational material through their mobile phones before they come to the donation centre.

Dr Raouf said that the app is in line with DHA’s vision to provide services to customers at a click of a button to support the authority’s vision of fulfilling a happy and healthy society.

“Through this app the Donors can also receive invitations for activities related to blood donation through their smart device and get notification for donation campaigns,” she added.

The application will allow public to register their details  to be contacted during emergencies and disasters to donate blood .This will support the blood services in having wide database for blood donors to be able to cover the hospital’s needs.

“The app will help avoid human errors and will add an extra layer to transfusion safety,” she said.

The app is available on both apple and android phones. – TradeArabia News Service
