Oman group begins work on new 100-bed hospital

MUSCAT, March 30, 2019

Oman-based Al Afia Healthcare Development and Investment Company has announced the start of construction works at the 100-bed Idealmed Hospital Project in the capital Muscat. It is likely to be completed in Q4 of 2020.

The new hospital, a joint venture between Oman-Brunei Investment Company, Suhail Bahwan Group Holding and the Portuguese Idealmed Group, is strategically located in Al Ghubra area of Muscat and will come up on a 10,000-sq-m area, reported Oman News Agency.

The facility will boast 40 clinics for various medical specialties, stated the report.

The foundation stone-laying ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Sa'eedi, Minister of Health, in the presence of Abdul Salam bin Mohammed Al Morshedi, CEO of the State General Reserve Fund (SGRF), it added.
