St. Regis launches Pinktober campaign in aid of Al Jalila

ABU DHABI, October 17, 2021

The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort and Al Wathba, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa, have launched initiatives as part of Abu Dhabi Luxury Collection Hotels and Resorts PINKtober campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Encouraging guests and hosts to contribute towards breast cancer research, the three destinations are aiming to raise funds for healthcare charity Al Jalila Foundation. Dedicated to providing treatment for those who are unable to afford healthcare, scholarships designed to empower the region’s future medical professionals and research into treatments for diseases such as cancer, diabetes and obesity, the organisation offers a much-needed service.

Pastry chefs across the three luxury hotels have created desserts just for PINKtober. Every dirham raised through the sales will go towards supporting the work of Al Jalila Foundation.

At The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, guests can savour PINKtober desserts at Villa Toscana and Catch. Specialising in Italian dishes, Villa Toscana is presenting the ‘The Pink Pear’ recipe, featuring a chocolate hazelnut casing, filled with the flavours of toasted hazelnut, guanaja ganache and poached pears.

The seafood hotspot Catch has launched ‘La Vie En Rose’, combining a slice of cheesecake with red berry confit and yuzu strawberry sorbet.

At The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, the ‘Pink Surprise’ dessert, crafted out of yuzu caviar, sour cherry compote, pistachio frangipane and creamy frozen yogurt, can be enjoyed at the Buddha-Bar Beach Abu Dhabi, and Sontaya Restaurant.

Lastly, Terra Secca at Al Wathba has created the ‘Pink Texture’ that fuses the tastes of almond frangipane, raspberry curd, an airy mascarpone, crispy meringue and rhubarb strawberry gelato.

The support is continued behind the scenes of this group. As part of Marriott’s Sustainability & Social Impact Platform Serve 360, the human resources teams at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort and Al Wathba, Desert Resort and Spa are selling Breast Cancer Awareness-themed ice creams, including a pink mask and ribbons.

The St. Regis Abu Dhabi is also offering its female hosts free breast cancer check-ups, health talks and subsidised entry to the 10th Annual ADCB Zayed Sports PinkRun 5km, with the hotel contributing 50% of the cost for each employee.

By joining forces with Aloft Abu Dhabi, team members can further their contribution by collecting used clothing, toys and books to be included in the Pinktober Donation Boxes.

The PINKtober dishes can be purchased until October 31, with prices starting from AED55 ($15).-TradeArabia News Service
