Club wins award even before opening

Dubai:, November 24, 2007

The Dubai Marina Yacht Club has won the ‘Best Industry Initiative in the Middle East’ award at the Arabian Gulf Yachting Awards 2007.

Winning the award even before the opening underscores Dubai Marina Yacht Club’s innovation in design for its Marina Berthing, the club said in a statement.

The Arabian Gulf Yachting Awards 2007 comprised 17 awards in 10 categories that recognise the leading names in the region’s yachting sector.

“The award is a motivational achievement and sets the standard for the Yacht Club’s future success. Emaar Hospitality Group is committed to ensuring that Dubai Marina Yacht Club becomes an international attraction for boat and leisure enthusiasts, and welcome members and guests alike,” said Emaar Hospitality Group Chief Executive Officer Marc Dardenne.

“This is a very exciting time for us as we near completion of the Dubai Marina Yacht Club. Offering four modern and well-equipped marinas to moor over 500 vessels, the versatile Club will have ample leisure facilities to meet the needs of all its visitors,” added Dubai Marina Yacht Club General Manager Captain Joe Goddard.
