UAE plans new industrial laws

The UAE Ministry of Finance and Industry is planning to bring in a new legislation to standardise the industrial sector, a report said.

A new authority, Emirates Authority for Industrial Development, responsible for the development of the sector will also be set up, the Gulf News report said.

The moves were revealed at a meeting Dr Mohammad Khalfan bin Kharbash, UAE Minister of State for Financial and Industrial Affairs, held with private industrial investors.
