Cairo, March 2, 2010

Lafarge Egypt may bid for one of eight new cement licences to be offered by the government this year, depending on energy prices, locations and other terms on offer, the company said on Tuesday.

"We are interested in boosting our production capacity, but we are waiting to see the conditions for the new licences," said Ahmed Shebl, managing director of the French firm's Egyptian unit. – Reuters
