French firms to display hi-tech services
Dubai, April 19, 2010
French companies will showcase a wide array of hi-tech services and equipment related to the airport sector at the country’s pavilion at an upcoming airport event in Dubai.
The 10th edition of the Airport Show, running from April 25 to 27 at the Airport Expo Dubai, will also host national pavilions from China, UK, Germany, Italy, Denmark, and Switzerland.
Some 10 leading French companies are exhibiting at the show aiming to capitalise on the growth potential offered by the Menasa (Middle East, North Africa and South Asia) airport market, a region that is on the fast-track of growth with 39 airports under construction.
The French exhibitors will showcase innovative sets of products and services that will help in the development and maintenance of all airport facilities in the region.
These include aircraft servicing equipment, airport handling, docking and access systems, training solutions, automation and paperless cargo processing and recovery of aircraft.
“The growth in global air traffic and investments in the airport infrastructure, particularly in the Menasa countries, represent a huge potential for French companies,” said Sophie Issovits, chief of airport projects at UBI France, organisers of the French pavilion.
“These companies can especially benefit from the airport projects in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Egypt and Libya,” she added.
“UBI France works to enable French airport services and equipment providers who have huge expertise in high tech sectors such as security, air traffic control and geo-location to reach out to more markets. Already, French companies have signed important contracts in many sectors in the UAE including logistics, aerospace, energy and environment.”
Mohamad Bader-Eddin, show director at Reed Exhibitions Middle East, the organiser of the show, said: 'The French companies bring a high level of expertise in various sectors of airport development, especially in hi-tech green solutions and advanced technological equipment helping in building and upgrading the region’s airport infrastructure.”
“We believe that French companies will be able to position their know-how and technology to bag important contracts with buyers from the region,” he added.
One of the key companies participating in the French pavilion, Usimat Sermees will be demonstrating its new innovations.
The company has a special focus on technologies for reducing CO2 emissions at airports, and has equipped its entire range of servicing, toilet waste disposal and drinking water trolleys with electric engines.
Some of the other top French companies showcasing different technologies at the national pavilion include EuroGSE, Thales, Deschamps, Group Reel and Sodexi. – TradeArabia News Service
