Dubai hardware expo to open tomorrow

Dubai, May 17, 2010

Hardware+Tools Middle East 2010, the region’s only dedicated exhibition for tools, hardware, materials and machinery, will open tomorrow (May 18) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Mohammed Bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehi, director general, UAE Ministry of Economy and patron of Hardware+Tools Middle East, will inaugurate the event which will run until May 20.

"The exhibition industry is an important sector in boosting the country's economy,” Al Shehi said.

“It can sometimes be difficult to source certain products and services and this is where Hardware+Tools can assist,” he added.

“We are in the business of trade and the aim of our exhibitions is to provide a platform where international manufacturers can meet with regional companies, key buyers and business partners,” said Ahmed Pauwels, chief executive officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organisers of Hardware+Tools Middle East.

“Exhibitions greatly benefit the evolving regional economies, encouraging increased trade as well as boosting the local economy,” he added.

“This specialised event focusing on tools, hardware, materials and machinery specifically caters to the large construction industry here and introduces new and improved products and services to the region.”

According to data from Dubai-based research firms, projects registering a total value of around Dh3,285 billion (US $900 billion) are under construction or in bidding in the UAE and more than US $1,368 billion worth of construction projects are currently either at design stage or underway around the Gulf.

Additional show features have been added to Hardware+Tools Middle East 2010 such as a live demo area. This will provide the exhibitors an opportunity to display their products or services in a more interactive environment. – TradeArabia News Service
