The Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) has been recognised as the best in the GCC region for localising its workforce.
Company general manager Abdul Rahman Jawahery was presented with the localisation award during the GCC labour and social affairs ministers meeting in Kuwait.
The award, designed to encourage and motivate private sector companies to increase the percentage of jobs for locals, also aims at encouraging businesses to double their efforts in the training of nationals.

'We are very proud of this achievement and this proves we are on the right path.'
He said 95 per cent of the total workforce is Bahraini and the company's entire management is Bahraini.
