Mapei admixture sales double in Q1
Dubai, July 1, 2012
Mapei, a global leader in adhesives, sealants and chemical products for buildings, has recorded a 100 per cent increase in sales of its admixture line of products during the first quarter of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011.
The upbeat sales performance has been driven by the improving growth outlook of the UAE’s construction industry, which industry analysts have projected to achieve a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7 per cent from 2010 to 2013.
Mapei has also introduced an exclusive range of concrete admixture products that have been specifically developed to address technical and efficiency issues in the concrete industry, particularly in the UAE where there is a growing concern over energy efficiency and the carbon footprint of construction materials and practices, it said in a statement.
Among Mapei’s new range of admixtures are the MapeiFluid N180, water-reducing, superplasticizer/retarder for concrete; Dynamon SR1300, superplasticizer based on modified acrylic polymer that has been developed especially for high flow concrete with extended slump retention in hot climates; Dynamon SC950, high performance proprietary screed additive; and Dynamon MR1000, concrete superplasticizer based on modified acrylic polymer that is developed specifically for ready mix concrete industries where the highest levels of concrete quality and performance is required.
Ahmad J E’wida, Mapei market manager – Concrete Admixture, said: "The 100 per cent growth in the sales of our admixture line is an important milestone that underlines the reputation of Mapei as one of the most trusted and recognizable brands in the UAE’s construction market.”
“This important milestone positions us strongly to capitalize on the new business opportunities that have emerged in the resurging construction markets in the UAE and across the region. Mapei will continue to focus on enhancing service excellence and developing high-quality, innovative and eco-friendly products to satisfy the evolving requirements of our clients.”
Mapei has built a state-of-the-art admixture manufacturing facility on its production site at Dubai Investment Park (DIP), which produces its unique admixture product line that features special properties suitable for the region's demanding climatic conditions.
The company has also established a fully equipped concrete laboratory, which provides the latest in technical support for regional concrete technologists.
Mapei admixtures have been used in some of the most challenging construction projects in the world including the three gorges dam in China, The Milan-Bologna High speed rail link, the Troll platform in the North Sea, Singapore Metro, and Munich Airport, among others. – TradeArabia News Service
