Milaha wins Seatrade awards

Milaha, a marine transportation major, has received two major accolades at the recent Seatrade Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards 2013 held in Dubai.
The awards were presented at a gala dinner attended by more than 800 leaders and senior executives from the region’s maritime sector.
Milaha’s president and CEO Khalifa Ali Al-Hetmi, received the “Seatrade Outstanding Achievement Award”, a special award presented to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the industry in the region and have dominated the headlines. In addition, Halul Offshore Services Company, a wholly-owned Milaha subsidiary, took home the “Marine & Offshore Services Award”.
The region’s most prestigious shipping industry awards is celebrating its tenth year, and these awards honour individuals, organisations and companies from across the region's shipping and logistics industry that have shown excellence and innovation over the previous 12 months.
Chris Hayman, chairman of Seatrade, said: “The companies that were both shortlisted for the awards and those that were winners have shown exemplary levels of achievement, in areas such as technical and operational innovation, commitment to safety and quality, social and environmental responsibility, business acumen and development of human resources.
