Alba unit conducts HSE Week

Manama, November 25, 2013

Aluminium Bahrain’s (Alba) Carbon1 & 2 Department recently organised its HSE Week to boost the company’s safety culture.

The HSE Week, under the theme “Safety is a way to happiness”, highlighted the importance of being safe at all times both at work and off work and, many activities such as training sessions, safety films, experts’ talks on safety issues were held.

Alba chief operations officer Isa Al Ansari said: “For Alba, the goal is not about merely minimising risky behaviour but about developing a zero accident work environment. We do this by continuously implementing activities and programmes that further strengthen the safety culture amongst its employees. The Carbon1 & 2 Department’s HSE Week emphasised the importance of increasing safety knowledge amongst employees while at work and outside work and it provided opportunities to discuss how this can be achieved through concrete action plans.”

Alba maintains safety awareness campaigns throughout the year, and this is accomplished through the weekly Monday safety hours, five-minute safety talk before each shift, the annual HSE Week for all the departments, and the individual Department-led HSE Week, which specifically focus on safety issues related to the departments. – TradeArabia News Service
