Zayani spotlights choice global brands

Manama, February 5, 2014

Bahrain-based Zayani Motors is making a strong pitch for globally well-recognised products from Italy, Sweden, Japan and China at the Gulf Industry Fair.

The Zayani stall features aerial platforms and cranes from Italy’s PM Group, forklifts and reach stackers from Sweden’s Kalmar; forklifts, reach stackers and heavy-duty trucks from Japan’s Mitsubishi; and excavators and bulldozers from Shantui, China.

A highlight of its participation is the official launch of the Shantui range of products in Bahrain, according to Vinod Kumar, senior sales engineer.

The Chinese firm’s star product is its range of bulldozers, which have the largest share of its domestic market. The dozers, which have a reputation for easy maintenance, are claimed to be consistently heavier and more stable than their nearest competitors and are able to deliver high performance in tough jobs with a good safety record to boot.

Mitsubishi’s Canter, among the world’s top-selling heavy-duty trucks and Bahrain’s most widely sought vehicle, is another highlight of Zayani Motors’s display. “In Bahrain, we have a 63 per cent share of trucks and the company has enjoyed the top position over the years,” said supervisor Shafeek Mohammed.

Canter is a first choice among small traders and large-scale manufacturers with buyers among ministries and Bahrain’s most high-profile firms, he added.

Shafeek said Zayani Motors last year sold 60 Mitsubishi heavy-duty trucks to one customer who does not want to be named.

This year Zayani Motors will be introducing a new Mitsubishi Canter model which will dispense more power. It sports a new engine, has a higher carrying capacity and has already been embraced by East Asian markets.

The new Canter products come in various forms for applications in cargo, tanker and garbage movements.

Zayani Motors is also presenting PM aerial platforms from 15 to 60 m high for electrical, civil and cleaning contractors. Shafeek said the platforms have been purchased by several Bahrain companies including power generating firms.

PM’s range of cranes was one of the products that have attracted the attention of visitors. The cranes have diverse applications including in ports and logistics and factories and range from two to 100 tonnes in capacity. They come with a three-year guarantee and Bahrain buyers include ministries and small and medium enterprises.

The company is also strongly advocating forklifts and port-handling equipment including reach stackers from Kalmar.

Kalmar’s new Gloria reach stacker has surpassed previous stackers in overall performance with improved ergonomics, functionality and driver adaptability. Other upgrades are a more responsive joystick, new steering wheel attachment and new pedals and faster lifting speed.

Zayani Motors is at Stand 1D51 at the fair, which concludes tomorrow (Feb 6). - TradeArabia News Service
