Over 500 firms for Dubai WoodShow

More than 500 companies from 40 countries are participating in the Dubai WoodShow 2014, a major industry exhibition, opening in Dubai tomorrow (April 8).
The event will run until April 10 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The show will focus on sustainability of wood resources at a time when the building and contracting industries in the UAE is using more timber compared to other resources. The show will also highlight “green building” solutions and the contribution of wood in this concept.
Wood is used as a major material for building in the GCC and it is also highly used in interior designs. The show encourages the use of wood with adherence to green and sustainable buildings in the region as well as in the UAE.
The Dubai WoodShow targets traders, architects, decision makers from the contracting, environment and other relevant sectors throughout the three days. Legal trade of timber and the significance of dealing with licensed exporters of timber will also take a huge deal of discussions at the show.
Walid Farghal, director general of Strategic Marketing & Exhibitions, organisers of The Dubai WoodShow said: “The Dubai WoodShow 2014 has succeeded in a decade in promoting the importance of using wood as an alternative to other materials that have bad impact on environment. We aim from this show to encourage professionals working in the construction and building industries to use wood in light with the recent legalizations taking place in the trade of timber.”
