IIC to host industrial research expo in Muscat

Industrial Innovation Centre (IIC) in collaboration with College of Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University will organise tomorrow (April 22) its first industrial research exhibition.

The event entitled "Towards Industrial Innovative Solutions" will be held at Rusayl Industrial Estate under the patronage of Hilal bin Hamad Al Hasani, CEO of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE).

The exhibition seeks to highlight and showcase the capabilities and innovation expertise of the researchers at SQU's College of Engineering.

This specialised exhibition will provide an ultimate platform to establish communication channels in order to encourage owners of industrial enterprises to adopt innovative ideas of the researchers and carry out essential research for their institutions.

This will eventually contribute effectively to the industrial development in Oman and achieve competitive advantages through research and development, whether in the field of products, services or industrial operations, and thus open broad prospects to compete with the global markets.

The exhibition also aspires to grant researchers in the academic sector with an opportunity to face the industrial challenges and find scientific solutions in consistent with the objectives of the concerned institutions. It also attempts to activate the network of research and innovation community in order to exchange views and communicate with owners of innovative projects in the private sector.

The event also attempts to boost the culture of innovation among institutions and individuals through implementing systematic and targeting policies in the partnership between the public and private sectors, along with activating the role of scientific and innovative research in supporting the knowledge-based economy. – TradeArabia News Service
