Manama, June 5, 2014

Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) has reported that it achieved the highest production rate in its history during the first quarter of the year.

A total of 460,029 metric tonnes of methanol, ammonia and urea were produced during the period without any lost time accidents, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication

To mark the achievement, a ceremony was held in the presence of GPIC president Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery and managing director Yousef Al Zamil, along with members of the executive management, labour union officials and department heads.

"We are proud of the company's ability to keep up with the challenges of the industry, which is teeming with competition at all levels," said Dr Jawahery.

"There has been a growth in our production processes in recent years, which has resulted in high achievement rates and records, not only at the level of production, employment and exports, but also in the field of maintenance and safety, making the company a clean and successful example for the industry in the region," he added.

He also emphasised that all the products the company produces are subject to stringent quality standards, in addition to preservation of the environment, occupational health and safety and responsible care standards.-TradeArabia News Service
