Alba shares safety story at global event

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), one of the world’s leading aluminium producers, shared its safety story during an international roundtable held at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee, US.

Alba chief operations officer Isa Al Ansari was a keynote speaker at the three-day event which concluded today (June 21).

The roundtable “Through the Eyes of the Executive, Creating Safer and Healthier Workplaces across Industries,” was sponsored by The Underwriters Laboratories.
Al Ansari, also a member on the executives panel discussion, presented the audience with the “Alba Safety Journey”, which highlighted Alba’s safety principles and policies, as well as its numerous initiatives to increase safety awareness amongst its employees.

Alba was also represented at this event by manager (operational excellence) Waleed Tamimi and superintendent behavioural and organisation, Training & Recruitment, Mahmood A.Aziz.

Commenting on the event, Isa Al Ansari said: "At Alba, employees are our most valuable asset, and their safety and health is our topmost priority. We constantly update and implement safety procedures to incorporate international safety standards, as well as continuously educate our employees on safe behaviour. "

"We believe that is important for organisations to make employee safety and health a top priority, one which demands continuous commitment from all levels of an organisation," he added.  

The event was held in partnership with the educational institutions of Vanderbilt University and the University of California at Berkeley.

It presented an executives’ perspective on how organisations have created a culture of health and safety, as well as offered advanced understanding to the participating organisations on important factors in implementing and advancing their health and safety management activities.-TradeArabia News Service
