Al Jaber inks UAE rail transport services deal

Abu Dhabi, July 8, 2014

Al Jaber Crushers & Quarries, a subsidiary of Al Jaber Group, has signed a MoU with Etihad Rail, the developer and operator of the UAE’s national railway, to utilize their services for its logistics operations.

As per the deal, by 2019, Al Jaber Crushers & Quarries will be able to transport its various products including stones, sand, and other aggregated material from its loading station at Shawkah in Ras Al Khaimah to offloading stations at Port Saqr, Jebel Ali in Dubai, Abu Dhabi Industrial City and Al Ruwais in Abu Dhabi as well as Al Ain.

The agreement was signed by Faris Al Mazrouei, the acting CEO of Etihad Rail and Khalifa Obaid Al Jaber, the group's board member.

The MoU establishes a strategic collaboration between the two parties and allows Al Jaber Crushers & Quarries to transport its products in a cost and time effective manner.

Al Mazrouei said: “We are delighted with the agreement and we believe that Al Jaber Group will witness significant benefits from our future rail operations. We are proud to work with established national companies and this is an important part of our strategy. Our services will provide UAE organizations with sustainable solutions in transportation and logistics.”

On the partnership, Al Jaber said: “We are proud to announce this important MoU with Etihad Rail. We are contributing to the development of this prestigious project, and looking forward to benefiting of this 1,200 kilometers national rail network in the logistical operations of Al Jaber Crushers & Quarries.
