New cyber security for Schneider systems

Dubai, July 23, 2014

Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, and Waterfall Security Solutions, which specialises in critical infrastructure and industrial control systems security, have announced a partnership to bring stronger-than-firewall cybersecurity technologies to Schneider Electric customers.

In the face of increasingly sophisticated cyber-attack capabilities, protecting the safety and reliability of industrial control system networks is a priority for both partners, a statement said.

The Schneider Electric CAPProgram deployment director, Loic Regnier, commented: “Accomplished technology partner companies like Waterfall Security, recognized in the industry by analysts and customers alike, bring advanced capabilities for our customers. They contribute to help build complete customer solutions by Schneider Electric.”

Starting with the Schneider Electric control system platforms, the Waterfall suite of solutions dramatically improves control-system network perimeter security. It simplifies compliance with industrial cybersecurity standards and best-practices, ranging from the power sector’s NERC CIP standards to the cross-industry IEC 62443 and NIST documents.

Waterfall’s unidirectional security gateway technologies are deployed widely in electric power, water, and oil and gas sectors. The company’s new products, including the award-winning FLIPTM and secure inbound/outbound gateway architecture for electric sector balancing authorities are widening the scope of stronger-than-firewall perimeter protections, it said -  TradeArabia News Service
