Modern Abrasives Middle East, a Bahrain-based company established in collaboration with Ekamant of Sweden, said it has launched its new facility in Hidd industrial area of the kingdom.   

The new industrial unit has been fitted out with abrasives conversion machinery from Italy, said a statement from the company.

Sourcing raw materials from Ekamant, Modern Abrasives specialises in the manufacture of wide and narrow belts, rolls, sanding sheets and sanding accessories to end customers of the wood, metal, automotive, granite and glass related industries.

The Bahraini company, which boasts of an ISO 9001-2008 quality certification, said its products are being sold in more than 50 countries around the world.

“Our products are being marketed all over the GCC with Saudi Arabia being the major market,” stated the general manager Omar Saleem.

Modern Abrasives' export arena also includes South Asia. “An export-oriented expansion with job creation is part of our future plans,” said Saleem.

Headquartered in Hidd, Modern Abrasives was established this month on a 1,200-sq-m area. -TradeArabia News Service
