Iran to commission six petchem units by March

Iran is expected to launch six new petrochemical units by March 2015, a senior official of the National Petrochemical Company was quoted as saying.
The start-up of these units will add approximately 2 million tonnes of products per year to the total petrochemical production capacity of the country, the company's director for production control Ali Mohammad Bosagh-Zadeh said.
The start-up of the new phase of the South Pars gas field is expected to help the operation of new petrochemical units, Irna news agency quoted Bosagh-Zadeh as saying.
Iran's petrochemical and polymer production is currently estimated at 60 million tonnes per year.
The projects set for commissioning are: The second phase of Kavian Petrochemical Complex and petrochemical complexes in Karoun, Lorestan, Kurdestan, Takht-e Jamshid and Mahabad, Bosagh-Zadeh said.
