Iran Khodro to increase car output in Iraq plant

TEHRAN, October 15, 2014

Iran Khodro Industrial Group plans to increase the production of cars at its plant in Iraq to 100 per day, a senior official was quoted as saying.

The company has already raised the production to 50 cars per day at its factory in Iskandariya, central Iraq, said Iran Khodro deputy CEO for exports Ali Elmi in a Fars News Agency report.

Iran Khodro produces a variety of cars including Runna, Samand, Soren, Peugeot Pars and Peugeot 405 in Iraq, he said.

The official said the cars produced at the plant are of high quality and the company had set up proper distribution and after-sale outlets in Iraqi cities.

The factory in Iraq will have an annual production capacity of 20,000 cars, he said.
