DHL appoints new manager for MEA operations

MANAMA, October 29, 2014

DHL Express, the world's leading logistics provider, has appointed Gary Owen as the new general manager for its Middle East and Africa distribution hub, headquartered in Bahrain.

With more than 26 years of experience in the logistics industry, over half of which have been spent with DHL, Owen brings a wealth of knowledge to the table and is a valuable addition to the DHL team, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Owen started working with DHL in 2002 and has held various technical and operational posts within the company, in senior management capacity, in countries throughout Europe and the Middle East.

In his new role, Owen is responsible for supervising the hub's operations and maintaining a timely, efficient and superior service for its customer base.

"At DHL, we always strive to hire the right type of people who fit in with our overall culture and corporate approach," DHL Express Mena chief executive Nour Suliman said.

"Gary is a prime example. He is dedicated, hard-working and driven by a passion to develop people, which ultimately has a positive impact on the organisation."
