Sipchem .... sees annual production capacity of 4,000 tonnes at new plant.

Sipchem to start operations at $40m plant

RIYADH, December 31, 2014

Saudi International Petrochemical Compaany (Sipchem) said it was starting up its new SR150 million ($40 million) ethylene-vinyl acetate film plant in Saudi Arabia.

The start-up phase will involve testing equipment at the plant, which has annual production capacity of 4,000 tonnes, it said in a statement.

Sipchem owns 75 per cent of the joint venture, Saudi Specialised Products Company, with South Korea's Hanwha Chemical Corp owning the remainder.

Located in the industrial zone of Hail, the plant will make film used for thin film solar photovoltaic (PV) modules.-Reuters
