Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) reaffirmed its status as a company committed to workplace safety with the Alba Labour Union’s recent campaign ‘Our children are waiting for us.’

The opening ceremony of the campaign took place at the Union Hall inside Alba, and was attended by the executive management and top officials, chairman and members of Alba Labour Union Board and a large number of employees. Also present were chairman of Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (Al Hurr), Yaqoub Yousif Mohammed.

Held on the occasion of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, the campaign highlighted the impact of deaths and injuries caused due to road accidents.

Every year, this day is dedicated to remembering the many millions killed or injured in road crashes and their families and communities, as well as to pay tribute to the dedicated emergency crews, police and medical professionals who deal on daily basis with the traumatic aftermath of road death and injury, said a statement.
    
Tim Murray, chief executive officer, said: “Road accidents could be very serious, if not fatal. Therefore, it is important to stay safe on the road, especially through using the seat belt – as it helps minimise the impact of these accidents.

“We at Alba stress on the importance of making safety a priority in all aspects of life, and that employees should come to work safely, work safely; go home safely; and be safe at home.” - TradeArabia News Service
