Iran produces....3.92, steel products during the 9-month period

Iran’s private sector makes 1.44m tonnes of steel ingots

DUBAI, January 19, 2015

More than 1.44 million tonnes of steel ingots have been produced by Iran’s private sector during the nine-month period from March 21 to December 21 last year, according to a report.

According to the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA), about 168,350 tonnes of the figure were produced during November 22 to December 21, said the Iran Daily report.

During the nine-month period, a total 3.92 million tonnes of steel products were produced by the private sector, 63 per cent of which pertained to round bar output.

Meanwhile, 2.38 million tonnes of round bar were produced by non-governmental steel producers, 260,200 tonnes of which were produced in the last month.

More than 831,000 tonnes of steel sheet and 291,700 tonnes of iron beams were also produced during the period.

Iranian steel-producing companies made 12.53 million tonnes of crude steel during the nine-month period, up six per cent, compared to the same period the previous year, according to a Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organisation report.

The steel products included galvanised sheet, round bar, iron beam, pipe, wide sheet and steel coil, it added.
