1.75 million cans.

Can-Pack opens new manufacturing plant in Dubai

DUBAI, January 19, 2015

Can-Pack Group, a renowned manufacturer of aluminum beverage cans and glass bottles, on Monday (January 19) officially opened its new manufacturing plant at Dubai Investments Park.

The launch of the 150,000-sq ft facility coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Can-Pack group, a company based in Cracow, Poland.  

The plant, which was built at an investment of Dh200 million ($54.4 million) is the group’s second manufacturing unit in the area. It boasts of a daily production capacity of 1.75 million cans.

The facility will also serve as a warehouse and distribution centre for the group, said the company in a statement.

Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, the UAE Minister of Economy, was present at the opening ceremony along with Prof Adam Krzymowski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Abdul Baseet Al Janahi, CEO of Dubai SME, Khalid Kalban, the CEO of Dubai Investments, Omar Al Mesmar, general manager of Dubai Investments Park, Philip Impink, the president and CEO of Can-Pack Group, Michal Sloniec, the managing director of Can-Pack Middle East and Peter Giorgi, shareholder of Can-Pack Group.

Speaking at the launch, Impink said: "We are delighted to inaugurate this manufacturing plant that will enable us to better service our clients. Since first establishing a beverage can factory in Dubai Investments Park in early 2007, we have witnessed a growing demand for high quality one-way packaging."

"This facility has enabled us to bring our total capacity of cans to over 1.6 billion per annum or a spectacular five million cans per day," he stated.

According to him, Can-Pack Group’s quality production of cans has received attention from major companies worldwide such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Heineken, Carlsberg, SAB-Miller, and InBev.

To ensure its products remain environmentally friendly, Can-Pack only uses water-based paints and varnishes that eliminate the negative impact of printing and varnishing on the natural environment, explained Impink.

Can-Pack Middle East is a subsidiary of Poland-based Can-pack, and has recently completed 25 years since its operations started in 1989, under the name of Pol-Am-Pack.
