Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), a leading aluminium producer in the world, has signed a service level agreement with APM Terminals Bahrain, the operator of Bahrain's Khalifa Bin Salman Port.

The agreement was signed between Alba’s adviser to the CEO, Jean-Baptiste Lucas, and Marco Neelsen, chief executive officer of APM Terminals Bahrain.

The agreement will boost Alba’s strategy to enlarge its presence in the global markets as well as enhance its overall service levels to customers. It will also reaffirm the good relations between the two companies and establish a consistent, high reliability of logistics and services, a statement said.

Alba chief executive officer Tim Murray said: “As Alba grows and diversifies its export markets, APM Terminals Bahrain plays an important role in facilitating the outbound supply chain. Alba looks forward to working with them to help grow its business and further streamline all steps of Alba’s global supply chain.”

Speaking at the signing, Marco Neelsen, chief executive officer of APM Terminals Bahrain, said: “Today, we are proud to have a continuous commitment towards not only Alba but the Kingdom of Bahrain. The agreement signed between us is a key milestone, which will enhance and increase service reliability to Alba’s logistic supply chain, which we are confident will further enhance Alba’s competitiveness in the global market. APM Terminals is headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands with the company’s core expertise being design, construction, management and operation of ports, terminals and inland services.
