In the run up to the turnaround, a meeting of company officials to take stock of preparations was initiated by GPIC president Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery.

"Modern and sophisticated equipment has been brought in from different parts of the world such as Italy, Germany, Spain, Singapore, Austria, India, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia," Dr Jawahery added.

He said the company has within its ranks young and qualified employees who have joined in the last few months and it was necessary that all employees work together to ensure the success of maintenance operations.
