Qatar building new national lab

DOHA, May 26, 2015

Work on Qatar’s new national laboratory in Mesaimeer for conducting specialised tests for food safety and also to check the quality and safety of medicines being imported to the country, will be completed by the end of the year, said the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).

The laboratory will also conduct tests related to environmental protection and disease outbreaks and supervise disease prevention campaigns, said a report in the Peninsula Qatar.

The project will cover an area of approximately 15,000 sqm (excluding the basement), said Ashghal.
