Honeywell to take up industrial security, CIP in Saudi

RIYADH, May 26, 2015

Honeywell, a diversified technology and manufacturing leader, has been officially certified by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior to execute industrial security and critical infrastructure projects (CIP) in the kingdom.

The firm will also be listed as a global supplier to design, engineer and implement Integrated Industrial Security projects in Saudi Arabia, said a statement.

The accreditation, which was granted by the Ministry of Interior’s (MOI) Central Licensing Unit (CLU), will see Honeywell work closely on security, safety and fire protection projects in sensitive sectors related to petroleum and petrochemicals, water and electricity, industrial services and communications, it said.

Saudi Arabia is currently the largest project market in the Middle East with $61 billion worth of contracts awarded over the past few years, and a further $1 trillion worth of projects planned, it said.

Anthony Azar, vice president and general manager for Honeywell Building Solutions, said: “This certification allows us to support Saudi Arabia’s ongoing development in key areas and also strengthens Honeywell’s position in the industrial security market.

“We look forward to working closely with our partners in Saudi Arabia and to support the goals and aspirations of the country by undertaking critical infrastructure projects which will be hugely beneficial to the kingdom as a whole.” - TradeArabia News Service
