GBM launches VersaStack solution in Gulf

DOHA, June 10, 2015

Gulf Business Machines (GBM), a leading provider of customised IT solutions in the Gulf, has launched VersaStack solution in partnership with IBM and Cisco at an event in Qatar.

VersaStack Solution is the first integrated infrastructure based on the IBM Storwize family of virtualised storage technologies and the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), said a statement.

The new technology will accelerate users’ IT infrastructure, and is targeted at the ever growing demand for virtualised infrastructure, while delivering improvements in operational efficiency and simplicity.

With five times more data, with real time compression, VersaStack solution has been widely anticipated by tech-consumers and businesses globally.

Soubhi Chebib, country general manager, GBM, said: “Companies in Qatar want to accelerate growth while reducing costs and to do so they require IT infrastructure that is easy, efficient and versatile.

“The VersaStack solution, created jointly by Cisco and IBM, meets this need.  VersaStack will help Qatari companies accelerate their deployment of IT infrastructure and reduce costs by more efficiently managing information and resources, whilst maintaining their ability to adapt to business change.  We are delighted to be bringing this technology to Qatar.”

Scott Manson, data centre Middle East lead at Cisco, said: “GBM is an enabler and backer of Cisco technology in the region and it is fantastic to have such a high level of support from them for such an important event here in Qatar.

“VersaStack solution is just one of the joint projects that IBM and Cisco have recently worked together on. We look forward to launching this technology solution.” - TradeArabia News Service
