MRC to supply valves to Sabic's 22 production complexes

MRC Global wins Sabic supply contract

HOUSTON, June 18, 2015

MRC Global, a leading distributor of pipe, valves, and fittings (PVF) to the energy industry, said its Middle East subsidiary has signed up as one of the primary valve suppliers of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) for its operations in the kingdom.

Sabic, headquartered in Riyadh, ranks among the world's top petrochemical companies. It operates from more than 50 countries and has over 60 manufacturing and compounding plants across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the Americas.

MRC Transmark Middle East signed a framework agreement with Sabic which covers MRC Global's supply of valves to all 22 of the Saudi firm's production complexes.

The pact is an expansion of its current framework agreement, which includes all of Sabic's European facilities, said a statement from MRC Global, a Fortune 500 company based in Houston (US) supplying products and services across each of the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors.

MRC Transmark Middle East will initially support Sabic's Saudi Arabian business from its regional distribution centre in the Jebel Ali Free Zone.

The 30,000-sq-ft warehouse and three-acre pipe yard has maintained approximately $20 million inventory of PVF products to support the region, said the company in its statement.

Through its subsidiary McJunkin Red Man Corporation, MRC Global has also served as the primary PVF provider to Sabic's US operations for more than 25 years, it added.

MRC Global said it was committed to opening a technical support and storage facility in Saudi Arabia and is in the final stages of agreeing to the details with a local partner.

"We are grateful for the trust Sabic has placed in MRC Global with this agreement," Andrew Lane, MRC Global chairman, president and chief executive, said.

"We look forward to expanding upon our strong relationship and solid track record to support Sabic in one of the most important energy producing countries in the world," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
