Bahrain-based Garmco, an international aluminum rolling mill and one of the largest downstream aluminum facilities in the Middle East, has appointed Khushroo Patel as its chief financial officer (CFO).

In his new role, Patel is responsible for leading and managing the areas of finance, purchasing and information and communications technology (ICT).

Patel brings more than 30 years of finance, administration and systems accounting experience to the company as well as a deep knowledge gained working in regional and international markets.

This includes senior finance roles across large multinational corporations engaged in diverse business activities covering construction, chemicals, automotive manufacturing, import/export, marketing, metals processing and distribution.

Prior to joining Garmco, he was regional CFO of Sika Services Middle East- Dubai for five years. Other past roles include CFO at Alam Steel Ltd- Dubai, CFO of One Steel Distribution – Australia’s Sheet, Coil & Aluminum Division, CFO of Smorgon Steel Sheet Metal Supplies - Australia, and commercial manager of Toyota Motor Corporation - Australia.

He holds an MBA from the University of New England (Australia). He is also an accredited Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) as well as a member of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) in Australia and the Australian Institute of Management (AIMM).
