DOHA, September 16, 2015

A meeting held by Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and SME Development (Bedaya Center), highlighted how start-ups create brand dominance through new innovative services which ultimately help generate a strong brand.

Bedaya Center, a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, hosted the meeting with entrepreneurs in Katara, Qatar.

These meeting held monthly aim to give young people of Qatar access to guidance and training, as well as support for their businesses, by hosting experts to share valuable experience and insight, said a statement.

Additionally, the meetings also provide access to guidance and training, as well as support for their businesses, by hosting experts to share valuable experience and insight, it said.

The networking event focuses on highlighting specific topics that assist startups and SME’s in Qatar.

This month’s event shed light on how to create a ‘Strong Brand’.  A strong brand differentiates a company from the competition, creates trust amongst customers and motivation among employees. At the same time a strong brand raises the profile of a company and ensures that it communicates its strengths efficiently.

As Qatar seeks to diversify its economy and promote small and medium enterprises (SMEs), it is imperative that more Qatari startups must increasingly consider how they want to present their products and services with as much transparency as possible, said the statement.

SMEs can create brand dominance through social media and social networks, it added.

The event brought home the point that with appropriate strategies, Qatars SMEs can successfully navigate the complex and volatile business environment.

The key speakers were Abdulla Al Mannai, founder of Dogma, Ramazan Al Naimi, co-founder of Be Creative and Amal Essa and Shaimaa Al Harmouzi co-founders of Rawaj.

Reem Al Suwaidi at Bedaya Center, said: “A Strong Brand is a success factor for start-ups.”

“The start-ups are well placed to gain a competitive advantage by utilising innovative communication channels such as social media. Unlike the traditional media channels, social media carries no distribution costs and levels the playing field for all companies,” she added. – TradeArabia News Service
