Kuwait’s Equate Petrochemical Company has sponsored the Kuwait Industries Expo 2015, which kicked off yesterday (October 18), at the Al- Baraka Hall in Crowne Plaza Hotel, Kuwait.

The expo will run until October 20, and is being held under the patronage of HH Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The event is organised by Kuwait Industries Union (KIU), and has attracted several Kuwaiti companies from the public and private sectors across various fields, said a statement from Equate, said a statement from Equate.

During the expo, HH Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah visited Equate’s exhibition stand, added the statement.

Mohammad Husain, president and CEO, Equate, said: “Our partnership with the Kuwaiti industrial sector has truly been a manifestation of our ‘Partners in Success’ slogan.”

“For example, Equate’s partnership with local plastic manufacturers has resulted in increasing their production in Kuwait by over 400 per cent since 1998. Equate also established a solid base to launch exports of made-in-Kuwait finished plastic products,” he said.

“For that, Equate continuously supports the efforts of Kuwaiti plastic manufacturers in supplying the local market’s demands with reliability, as well as growing their exports and presence in other countries,” he added.

Husain added: “The growth and development of Kuwait’s industrial sector depends on a number of elements, including cooperation between all relevant government bodies and private entities, establishing integrated industrial areas and complexes, securing state-of-the-art technology, and as well as building the capabilities of qualified human resources as they are the main element to ensure sustainability-based industrial innovation.”
