Emirates Steel showcasing latest products at Big 5

ABU DHABI, November 24, 2015

Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Steel, the only integrated steel plant in the UAE, is showcasing its steel product range at the ongoing The Big 5 Show in Dubai, UAE, for the fifth consecutive year.

The show which kicked off yesterday (November 23) will conclude on November 26, and is being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Emirates Steel is among the major exhibitors at this specialised forum, and showcased its steel product range including rebar, rebar in coil, wire rod, heavy sections and sheet piles, along its ongoing ambitious plans to transform the company into total steel solutions provider with further focus on high value steel products, improved products and service quality, in addition to its initiatives related to the company’s environmental footprint and safety for workers and customers, said a statement from the company.

Eng Ahmed Salem Al Dhaheri, chief commercial officer (CCO), Emirates Steel, said: “The UAE continues to accomplish impressive developments across economic, industrial and social sectors, and has established a pioneer position worldwide ranking first in the world in terms of the high quality and advanced roads and infrastructure on the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI), according to the Global Competitiveness Report (GCR) 2014-2015 issued by the World Economic Forum (Davos).”

“The UAE is witnessing a construction boom with the huge investment opportunities and massive projects in line with Abu Dhabi Vision 2030,” he said.

Emirates Steel’s current product range includes value-added products; a stronger steel with higher tensile strengths and steels with special mechanical properties so that lesser quantity of steel is required by customers, in addition to its range of straight length reinforcing bar (rebar) and rebar in coil, wire rod, hot rolled structural steel sections, which include beams, columns, channels and sheet piles, added the statement.

The UAE steel maker is also supplying high-value steel products used in nuclear plants for the first peaceful nuclear energy program for power generation in the country, and has also introduced a number of additional grades of wire-rod with diverse chemical compositions and distinctive physical properties, offering flexibly to cater for different applications, it said.
 
Emirates Steel anticipates improvements in market conditions and increased demand for steel with the stabilisation of the region’s construction sector; including various multi-billion dollar infrastructure projects.

Al Dhaheri said: “The Big 5 is very important event for us, it is an excellent venue to showcase our expertise in steel production, and boost our position at local and regional market.”

“To us the event is the ideal platform to present our expertise and promote our unique products to all GCC countries, especially with the increased demand for high quality steel products in the regional market,” he further said.

“The exhibition is also the perfect destination where we can meet our end customers and have direct dialogue with them, we were satisfied with the positive response we received during last year’s edition, and this year the feedback exceeded our expectations,” he concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
