Abu Dhabi Ports wins training award

DUBAI, December 15, 2015

Abu Dhabi Ports, the master developer, operator and manager of ports and industrial zones in the emirate, said it has won the ‘Training Award’ for the second consecutive year at the Lloyd’s List Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards.

The awards recognise the maritime sector’s successes and rewards the innovative ideas and concepts that have made positive changes.  

The accolade was presented to Abu Dhabi Ports during the ceremony held recently in Dubai, UAE, in the presence of decision makers from the maritime industry in the region.

The award acknowledged the company’s commitment to training employees and its contribution towards improving training standards across the maritime industry as a whole, said Abu Dhabi Ports in a statement.

The judges lauded the company’s initiatives to invest in new facilities and courses, innovative training solutions and a sustained and effective approach to developing quality staff in the maritime sector, it said.

Abu Dhabi Ports’ internationally recognised Maritime Training Centre offers a portfolio of marine and port training courses to help the ports and terminals in the region improve the safety and security of their operations.

Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, the CEO said the training and development of human resources was one of Abu Dhabi Ports’ strategic priorities.
 
“Training and development is a crucial element in effective port management and ensuring operational efficiencies at our ports and the ports across the region,” he stated.

“Receiving this award for the second consecutive year encourages us to further invest in efforts to spread the culture of performance excellence not only at the level of our employees but also to all who operate within the maritime industry in the region,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
