Dewa launches Wetex promotion at Mumbai show

DUBAI, December 29, 2015

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) recently took part in one of India's largest exhibitions of engineering products and services at Mumbai, as part of a promotion campaign for its upcoming Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (Wetex 2016) show.

The India Engineering Sourcing Show (IESS 2015) was organised by the Engineering Export Promotion Council of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

Dewa’s participation at the show was aimed at promoting the Wetex 2016, which is fast emerging as an interactive platform for international organisations, companies, and individuals in the water, energy, environment, oil and gas sectors.

A leading utility industry event, Wetex will be held from October 4 to 6 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Dubai, UAE.

It is being organised by Dewa under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and president of Dewa.

"We have made a number of successful global visits to explore opportunities for co-operation and attract participations from all related sectors including energy and related areas, environment, water, and oil and gas," remarked Dewa's managing director and CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, who is also the president and founder of Wetex.

Al Tayer said the utility firm is set for another extensive visit somewhere in the first quarter of 2016 for closer discussions with decision makers.

"During the last visit, we managed to open many discussion channels with various Indian companies to increase their participation in the next Wetex," he added.

Welcoming the visiting Dubai team at the event, EEPC officials lauded Dewa for its role at the India Engineering Sourcing Show.

At the event, Dewa gave a presentation on the Government Procurement System including e-Procurement in the presence of senior officials including SK Dhanda, the former chairman of EEPC India, Ireni Akoijam, technical director, NIC Mumbai, Amitabh Datta, Adjunct Faculty, NIFM and former additional member, Railway Board, and Akshay Rath, CEO of e-Procurement Technologies Limited.

Ravi Capoor, the joint secretary of Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry in India, along with senior EEPC dignitaries visited the Dewa stand where he was presented the copy of ‘Flashes of Thought,’ a book written by Sheikh Mohammed.

Dewa delegation later held discussion with the IESS experts on ways to boost the participation of Indian companies at the upcoming Wetex 2016 show.-TradeArabia News Service
