DMCA launches ‘Exam in your office’ licence service

DUBAI, February 28, 2016

Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has announced that it has issued a marine driving licence to the chairman of Gulf Craft Mohammed Al Shaali through its ‘Exam in your office’ initiative.

The initiative is a service that provides the opportunity for water sports enthusiasts to obtain their marine driving licence quickly, easily and in the convenience of their own offices, said a statement from DMCA.

The service is one of the latest additions to the DMCA’s wide portfolio of services, which has been developed to support the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The ‘Exam in your office’ initiative also complements the authority’s continuing move to increase the levels of customer satisfaction while also playing a key part in the move to maintain the wellbeing of the local community, added the statement.

A team from the DMCA recently visited Al Shaali in Gulf Craft’s Dubai office to administer and facilitate an online theoretical examination, which is a major requirement in the acquisition of a marine driving licence.

After the test, Al Shaali lauded the DMCA for its pivotal role in facilitating and streamlining the procedures for marine licensing. He further commended the authority for its commitment to provide a full portfolio of innovative services that meets the expectations of customers, which complements efforts to position Dubai as one of the most competitive and prominent maritime centres in the world.

Adel Kalanter, director for Registration and Licensing, DMCA, said: “We are delighted to issue a marine driving licence to the chairman of Gulf Craft. This move reflects his high confidence in our service.”

“We commend Al Shaali’s decision to choose our innovative service that undoubtedly represents a boost to our efforts to develop and regulate and promote the local maritime sector as well as provide maximum safety requirements within the territorial waters and coasts of Dubai,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
