Turkey agrees $5.9bn of new defence projects

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said the country's defence industry executive committee on Wednesday approved $5.9 billion of new defence projects, $4.5 billion of which will consist of domestic production.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Davutoglu said Turkish defence industry exports rose 35 percent in the first two months of the year and that the country had made significant progress in developing weaponised drones. – Reuters
