Espac shines at gulfBID with novel PAC products

MANAMA, April 27, 2016

The Saudi-Emirati company Espac is at gulfBID expo showcasing its high-quality precast aerated concrete (PAC) made in Saudi Arabia.

The company, which has a state-of-the-art factory in Dammam, witnessed surging demand for its products including a building system based on load-bearing walls using autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) products such as blocks, jumbo blocks, slabs, lintels, and prefabricated, load-bearing vertical walls, roof tiles and partition panels, said a company spokesman.

The products are manufactured using a special cementitious mix formula based on calcium silicate hydrates where low density is attained by the inclusion of an agent resulting in macroscopic voids and subjected to high pressure steam curing, he stated.

The AAC concept, developed in the 1920s in Sweden, made its debut  in Saudi Arabia in 1977 and is now used all over the world, demonstrating the need and demand for AAC, based on the great benefits it offers and the fact that it is a green product, explained the official.

Commenting on the attributes of PAC, he said: "The product is efficient, effective, lightweight and 100 per cent green. It guarantees speedy installation while providing thermal and acoustic insulation properties."

"Besides, the PAC is also fire-resistant, durable and resistant to earthquakes," said the spokesman.
Espac’s plant in Dammam, which uses machinery from Germany’s Hess, has a production capacity of 1,500 cu m per day for both white blocks and reinforced AAC load-bearing wall and roof panels.

Its block products have recorded huge sales in both the Gulf and Iraqi markets, with a large number of blocks and load-bearing panels having been supplied to many residential projects in Saudi Arabia, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
